“Seeing the Unseen Christ”

Join me on a journey of the soul. Let’s go in search of the consciousness of Christ Jesus. The tour brochures for our journey do not list all of our destinations. The unseen Christ will surprise you day by day as we walk along on this pilgrimage.

There will be markers along our way, but you will need to chart your own part of this journey, to see where you have been and where you are going. So find yourself a notebook or a journal, a pen or pencil, and write down the things that you discover.

What tools will you need?  As I said, a notebook, pen, and a bible. Regular scripture reading is important on this journey so pick a bible that you can easily read and understand.

We are not running a race here, so I will post here once each week to get us on our way. To get the most out of this journey I encourage you to revisit the scripture and the questions, ask them again and again to see if there is any additional thoughts that come to mind during the week.

This week’s scripture is II Chronicles 5:7-14.

Questions for you to consider and answer:

  1. ) What do you normally think of as evidence of the Lord’s presence in someone’s life?
  1. ) What surprises you about the worship scene described in these verses?
  1. ) What attributes of God were celebrated in the praise song the priests sang?
  1. ) Before this scene the priests consecrated, or dedicated, themselves. What plans should you make to prepare  your heart for meaningful worship this weekend?
  1. ) Which of Christ’s many attributes do you want to praise Him for, and why?

What spiritual goal might you wish to set for yourself during this journey?  Pray about it, ask God daily to show you which aspect of your spiritual life He wants to develop.

Take ownership of this goal by writing it down in your notebook.  It may be bible study, serving others, sharing your faith, or becoming part of the weekly worship service.

I look forward to being here next week!
